Permanent, Full-time, On-site - Weekend Shift (Wednesday-Saturday)

Global Drain Technologies is a leading manufacturer of engineered drainage systems for the food and beverage industry, industrial facilities, and urban landscape projects.

We’re looking for a motivated machine operator to join our production team! 

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Laser Machine Operator is mainly responsible for operating the laser cutting machine to cut stainless steel metal. They ensure the machine is set up correctly, monitors the cutting process and inspects the finished product for quality and accuracy.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure health and safety is a priority by following company policies and procedures including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE);
  • Configure laser machine with appropriate settings based on the material, thickness, and desired cut specifications;
  • Load materials onto the machine bed, ensuring proper alignment and clamping;
  • Verify machine calibration and functionality to ensure accurate cutting;
  • Monitor the cutting process, observing for any irregularities or potential issues;
  • Perform routine maintenance on laser machine, including lens, replacing consumables and checking wear and tear per schedule;
  • Complete daily crane and forklift inspections;
  • Load and unload material using crane and forklift machines;
  • Inspect, verify and organize incoming materials;
  • Assist in cycle counts for inventory;
  • Perform quality checks to ensure that established quality standards are being maintained;
  • Process production orders within our ERP system.

What You Bring
  • Experience in metal fabrication is considered an asset;
  • Knowledge and experience with Laser cutting machine;
  • Can do attitude, willing to learn;
  • Mechanically inclined with good attention to detail;
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs;
  • Must be able to frequently move, push, pull, lift or carry heavy product;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting;
  • Good hand-eye coordination;
  • Self-motivated and self-starter.

Hours of Work: Full Time Schedule is from Wednesday to Saturday, 12 hour shifts.

Hourly Wage: dependent on experience and skill level.
