AutoCAD Drafting Assistant - Summer Term

Full-Time, On-site, June to September (4 month term)
Global Drain Technologies is a leading manufacturer of engineered drainage systems for the food and beverage industry, industrial facilities, and urban landscape projects.
We are looking for an AutoCAD Drafting Assistant to cover a summer term in the Engineering team! The successful candidate will produce shop drawings and provide day-to-day support on a variety of projects within the Production Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design of drainage systems for major commercial projects;
- Create shop drawing of our product brands;
- Assist in work order routers and CNC laser nesting programs;
- Provide technical support to sales and production staff.
Education and Experience:
- Education in an accredited technologist program or related study;
- Experience with 2D AutoCAD drafting would be an advantage;
- Strong mechanical aptitude;
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints;
- Ability to work well in a team setting;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Working knowledge of Google or MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with 3D software (Autodesk Inventor experience is an asset);
- Knowledge and understanding of ERP system is an asset;
- Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing methods (laser cutting, press brake forming and welding) is an asset.

Hours of Work: 80 hours biweekly. Monday to Friday

Compensation
$20.00 - $23.00 per hour
