At Global Drain Technologies, we take pride in manufacturing the highest quality stainless steel drainage products in the industry. We are experiencing a wave of growth and are looking to add to our Shipping and Receiving department. In this position the successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks that include passivation, sandblasting, cleaning, assembling, packing, loading, and unloading of our products. The Production Assistant reports to the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure health and safety is a priority by following company policies and procedures;
- Wash and load parts with baskets and move through passivation process;
- Perform maintenance including emptying, cleaning, and filling acid tanks safely and efficiently;
- Operate sandblasting equipment to thoroughly clean stainless steel products;
- Effectively clean stainless steel products using SURFOX machine;
- Assemble and prepare shipments according to work order requirements;
- Assist in loading and unloading of delivery trucks;
- Inspect, verify and organize incoming materials;
- Assist in cycle counts for inventory;
- Perform quality checks to ensure that established quality standards are being maintained;
- Process production orders within our ERP system;
- Maintain a clean work area;
- Other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
What you bring
- Related experience in shipping and receiving;
- High School diploma or combination of education and experience is considered;
- Customer Service focused with a positive work attitude;
- Ability to be a team player;
- Mechanically inclined with good attention to detail;
- Must be able to frequently move, push, pull, lift or carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs;
- Experience operating a forklift is an asset.

Hours of Work: 80 Hours Bi-weekly. Monday to Friday with occasional weekends.
Hourly Wage: Dependent on experience. Starting at $17 per hour.
